On the BEER MICHI road →

Two minutes from Jiyugaoka's main exit, down the alley beside Seijo Ishii, DevilCraft pours its own beer — brewed in Tokyo over in Oimachi — on fifteen or so taps: about a dozen house beers plus a few guests from the US and Japan and a cider. The current tap list is posted on their site.

The other half of the deal is Chicago-style deep dish: cheese and toppings packed into a tall crust with marinara on top, the dough, sauce and sausage all made in-house daily. A small runs ¥1,790–2,990 (Devil Works is ¥2,390) and feeds one or two. It takes about 30 minutes to bake, so order the pizza with your first beer, not your second. The seven-seat counter is walk-in only; tables can be booked online.

It's a relaxed room and families are welcome — buggies allowed, a terrace out front, and a Saturday-Sunday noon opening that makes it a proper lunch option. Entirely non-smoking, no cover charge, menu and staff work in English.
