DRA STAND (Hibiya Gourmet Zone)
DRAスタンド
Hibiya Gourmet Zone is a short run of restaurants built into the red-brick arches of the railway viaduct between Yurakucho and Shimbashi. DRA STAND is the front room of one of them: twelve taps on the wall (not all of them pouring every night), a pizza oven in plain view, and odd-shaped high counters with tall stools, built for a quick drink rather than a long sit. It is the standing-bar spin-off of Shibu-Dra in Shibuya, from the same DREAM ON group.
Start with a three-beer flight, then a half pint or a full glass of whichever stuck. Taps mix Japanese beer, such as Baird and a house hazy IPA brewed with REVO Brewing, with imports like Firestone Walker, and staff will steer you if you ask. Food is better than a standing bar needs: pizza from the oven, half-and-half if you can't choose, a truffle omelette for ¥950, and vegetable sours, carrot among them, for whoever in your group has had enough beer.
Behind a door at the back is URA-DRA, a sit-down Italian room that also does courses; the standing front is the part that matters here. No reservations, and Friday dinner is standing only, so go early or pick a weeknight. Non-smoking throughout; cards, e-money and QR codes are fine.
