IBREW Ebisu
CRAFT BEER BAR IBREW EBISU
A minute from Ebisu Station, take the lift in the STM Ebisu Building down to the second basement. The room is big for a basement: 86 seats, or up to 150 for a standing party, with counter and table seating, sofas, and a corner the shop styles as a 1970s velvet lounge. There are 47 taps.
The beer runs on a tier system, and the trick is to read it before you point. The Basic tier is ¥429 for a 270ml half pint (¥759 a pint); Limited, Extreme and Ultimate step up to ¥759, ¥1,089 and ¥1,419 a half. The list mixes Japanese and imported craft; you read it on your phone via a QR code and order out loud by number. Flights of 90ml glasses come in threes, fives and tens for the indecisive.
Food is bistro-style: plates of beef steak, roast swordfish and falafel (¥1,099 for one, bigger ones to share), the house sausage, Belgian fries, fish and chips and tapas from ¥539. It opens at 13:00 every day, there's no table charge, and it is cash only.
